  	On 13 November 1655, the General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony ruled on a petition dated 24 October 1655 as follows: "In ansr to the peticon of Major Willard, Robt Merrjam, in the name of divse others of the toune of Concord, desiring libertje and authority from this Court to sell the house & land of Frauncis Barker, lately deceased, for the best advantage of his children, the house being much out of repajre, & the land to inconsiderable to defray the charges of repaire, the Court graunts theire request."
