  	On 2 April 1767, the Isle of Wight County Court declared that "the Deft being an Infant, George Hale is by the Court appointed his guardian to defend this suit in Chancery brought by his siblings. The suit had been brought by John & Rebecca Clark, John and Mary Lambeth, Ann Richardson and Elizabeth Richardson against their brother William Richardson, a minor. The cause sought compensation for an equal share of their mother Ann Richardson's dower property, which at her death, had apparently fallen to their brother William. The Court ruled in favor of the plaintiffs.
