  	William was lost at sea during the voyage. On 7 April 1769, prior to sailing for Madeira, and island off the coast of Portugal, William granted administration of his business affairs to his wife Ann Wishart Keeling.

  	There is no probate date noted on his William's will. To further complicate the question of the date of probate, there is a chronological gap in the Princess Anne County Court orders between July 1769 and June 1770. However, on 10 July 1770, his son William Keeling as acting executor sold land as directed by his father's will.
