- In 1657 Thomas purchased a house lot of approximatley seven acres in Concord from the Rev. Peter Bulkeley.
- According to the deed Bulkeley "sold to Thomas Dane, Carpenter of Concord, all that house, barns, and land which I bought of George Haywood, together with the orchard also abutting on the Mill brook...".
- Thomas owned the property until his death in 1675 at which time it passed to his son Joseph Dane.

- An entry in the Middlesex County Court Files dated 16 June 1658 records a contract between Thomas Dane of Concord, Joyner and Thomas Welsh of Charlestown, Husbandman. By this contract, Thomas' servant Thomas Chestman, aged 11, was bound to Welsh for seven years.
- Thomas Chestman had been bound to Dane for sixteen years by the town officers of Cranbrook, County Kent in England.
- This mention of Cranbrook, Kent has led to speculation by genealogists and family historians that Thomas Dane was originally from Cranbrook, Kent. To date, no evidence has been found to support this speculation.
