  	Amos' death was recorded at both Townsend and Concord. The Concord entry and the inscription on Amos' gravestone both record his death day as 4 January. The Townsend entry notes 3 January. The Concord death register entry reads thusly: Dea. Amos Heald formerly of the Town, Latly Removed to Townsend, husband to Elizabeth his wife, died at Townsend January the fourth 1775 in the Sixty seventh year of his age".

  	His body was interred at the Old Cemetery in Townsend. The inscription on his gravestone states: Dea. Amos Heald died in this Town, Jan. 4, 1775, in his 66y. Who removed to the Town of Townsend in May 1766, from the town of Concord, where he 'used the office of a Deacon in the church in that Town many years and untill his removal and thereby purchased to himself a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus' and to the universall of his brethern in that church."
