  	While the Circassia passenger arrival list, signed 8 March 1888, listed August and Annie as husband and wife, it appears that there were not actually married until after their arrival in the United States. Rev. Paul Isenschmid, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church married the couple in Wilmington, Delaware on 2 April 1888. Gottfried Pillisch and August Kemske stood as witnesses to the marriage.
