  	Kate Gallagher recalled a story from her childhood in which Emma told Canadian border guards that she had been born in "Heidelberg". I believe that Emma was misunderstood, and that she was saying "Heilsberg", referring to a town in the Allenstein province of East Prussia, not far from the town of Peterswalde, where her mother Charlotte was born and the town of Gross Schmuckwalde where her sister Mathilde was born.

  	Emma died at 7:05 pm at her home on her farm on Coochs Bridge Road. Cause of death was noted as a coronary occlusion and staph infection. Emma had suffered from generalized arteriosclerosis for about 6 years. She was 83 years old at the time of her death.
