  	According to his World War I draft registration card, dated September 1918, Paul was employed as a "chipper and caulker" at the Harlan Plant of Bethlehem Steel Corporation, in Wilmington, Delaware. In 1925 he was transfered to the Rayon Division of DuPont. And in 1932 he moved to the Cellophane Division of the company. In 1942, Paul was promoted to plant manager of DuPont's Spruance Cellophane Plant in Richmond. By the time of his retirement on 1 January 1961, Paul had served as plant manager at all of DuPont's Cellophane plants: the Spruance plant in Richmond, the Old Hickory plant in Tennessee, the Clinton, Iowa plant and the Yerkes Plant in Buffalo, New York. Paul rose through the ranks of production jobs and moved into management positions necessitating moves to Old Hickory, Tennessee and Richmond, Virginia; then back to Old Hickory and once again to Richmond.

  	Paul died at 4:55am on 8 July 1981 at Morehead Nursing Center in Morehead City, North Carolina. He was 82 years old at the time of his death. Cause of death was noted as lung cancer, with general and cerebral arteriosclerosis as contributing factors.
