- NOTE ON PARENTAGE OF Lucy, wife of Charles Collier is most often "assumed" to be Lucy Wyche, the "assumed" daughter of George & Sarah Wyche....examination of several Wyche genealogies does not bear this out....George Wyche's will dated 5 Oct 1753, Sussex Co, names wife Sarah, sons, sons-in-law, a grandson and a granddaughter and a daughter....each relative is given a specific relationship to the deceased....the only exceptions to this practice are the namings of Charles Collier and John Clanton for whom no relationships are given....neither a daughter Lucy, nor a daughter Amy is mentioned....It is of interest to note, however, that Charles & Lucy Collier had a grandson named George Wyche, a great-granddaughter named "Lucy Wyche", a great-grandson named Benjamin Wyche, a 2great-granddaughter named Flora Wyche, and a 3great-granddaughter named Daisy Wyche....the Wyche name does not occur in any Collier line other than theirs.
