  	Ann, apparently, failed to properly administer William's estate as two chancery causes concerning its disposition were filed with the Isle of Wight County Court between 1764 and 1767. On 8 August 1766, the Isle of Wight County Court awarded daughter Rebecca and her husband John Clark "their Share of the Personal estate" of William Richardson. The second case, decided on 2 April 1767, had been brought by John & Rebecca Clark, John and Mary Lambeth, Ann Richardson and Elizabeth Richardson against William Richardson, a minor. The cause sought compensation for an equal share of their mother Ann Richardson's dower property, which at her death, had apparently fallen to their brother William. The Court ruled in favor of the plaintiffs.
