  	Willie died of "angina pectoris" at 3:30pm on 27 November 1922 at the Linden Avenue house where she roomed, in Portsmouth, Virginia. She was 70 years old at the time of her death.

  	Willie's cemetery stone inscription notes that she was "aged 66 years" at the time of her death in 1922. This data is incorrect, as it infers that she was born in 1856. An 1856 birth date is impossible, as her mother died in 1855 during the yellow fever epidemic. The birth information on her death certificate is, also, incorrect. Her body was interred in the Mathieson Family Plot at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Portsmouth, Virginia on 28 March 1922.
