  	It may be concluded that Joshua was born prior to March 1676/7 as he was recognized by the Elizabeth City County Court as "Administrator" of the estate of Joseph Chowne on 10 March 1697/8. This responsibility would have legally required that Joshua be, at least, 21 years of age when appointed by the Court in the capacity of administrator.

  	On 19 December 1711 Joshua patented 153 acres of land in Norfolk County on the south west side of the Elizabeth River, adjacent to property belonging to Capt. William Craford. This patent notes that the property was "within the bounds of a Patent Granted Capt. Thomas Willoughby" on 10 February 1636.

  	On 18 September 1718 in Norfolk Co, VA, Joshua and Robert Tucker executed two indentures by which the said Tucker leased 153 acres of land on the Southwest side of the Elizabeth River. This was the land that Joshua had originally patented on 19 December 1711. Sara Curle "parted with" her "Right of Dower" during the term of the lease.
