  TO BE CLEANED UP: Lemuel Mason served as justice for Lower Norfolk County from 1650 until his death ca 1702. He was presiding justice after 1669. He served as a major and then a colonel of the militia in 1658, 1665 and 1698/9. He represented Lower Norfolk County in the Virginia House of Burgesses from 1654 to 1663, from 1671 to 1673, from 1680 to 1682 and from 1684 to 1686. He was the Norfolk County representative to the House for the two 1693 sessions.
