• Photos		SS Circassia Built for Anchor Line by Barrow Shipbuilding Company at Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire, England. Launched 19 March 1878. Maiden voyage 1 June 1878. Sold for scrapping 1900.

• Notes

  Married: While the Circassia passenger arrival list, signed 8 March 1888, listed August and Annie as husband and wife, it appears that there were not actually married until after their arrival in the United States. Rev. Paul Isenschmid, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church married the couple in Wilmington, Delaware on 2 April 1888. Gottfried Pillisch and August Kemske stood as witnesses to the marriage.
