16076	Three Norfolk County documents concerning Ann Watkins create a conundrum when taken with her above noted guardian bond, dated 18 October 1759, and marriage bond, dated 30 October 1759. The 2 August 1757 will of Ann's cousin Craford Conner names her as Ann Collings. On 18 February 1759, she witnessed the will of Alexander Bayne as Anne Collings. And on 4 October 1759, she was named in the will of her brother John as Ann Watkins Collings. These three documents suggest that Ann had married a man named Collings prior to 2 August 1757. But if that were so, Colonial law would not have required a guardian to act on her behalf in October 1759, nor would the surname on her 1759 marriage bond have been Watkins.	WATKINS, Ann (I56892)

He served as a major and then a colonel of the militia in 1658, 1665 and 1698/9. He represented Lower Norfolk County in the Virginia House of Burgesses from 1654 to 1663, from 1671 to 1673, from 1680 to 1682 and from 1684 to 1686. 16097	TO BE REMOVED: Re: Nco DB 8 1-5 - The day was not clear on page 1, but I feel comfortable with my transcription "May 1708". I feel strongly that the clerk made a mistake with the date on page 2. I've bolded the dates in my transcription. It is very clear that the court adjourned to "Monday the 17th of this Instant 1708". Then the very next entry has - clearly - 17th of May 1707. Unfortunately on page 4, the last digit of the year was on the edge of the page and not readable. The fascinating thing was that by copying page 5, I finally saw that the report was spread across two pages - the audit entries at the tops of the pages and the statement by Robert Tucker and Sam: Smith across pages 4a and 5 with two dates, the date of the order - 15 Mar 1707, most surely 1707/8 - then the date of the document 11 May 1708 and record date 17 May 1708.
